The Challenge: Outdated Flooring in High-Traffic Areas

The library and office spaces needed new flooring for both looks and functionality. The old carpet tiles were worn and faded, while the glue-down installation left behind adhesive residue, creating challenges for a smooth new application. The goal was to refresh the space with durable and visually appealing flooring that would withstand high traffic while enhancing the overall atmosphere.

Our Solution: Vinyl Carpet Tiles (VCT) and Durable Luxury Vinyl (LVP)

To address these needs, we carefully selected two premium flooring materials: Raw Beauty style 'Astute' carpet tiles for the library and 'Urban Khaki' luxury vinyl plank (LVP) for the office spaces.

• Raw Beauty 'Astute' Carpet Tiles: We chose this style for its elegant beige and tan hues, which added a modern, warm touch to the library. The combination of vibrant shades brings a sophisticated atmosphere that invites visitors and creates a comfortable reading environment.
• Urban Khaki Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP): For the offices, we installed LVP in the color “Urban Khaki.” The LVP offers durability and ease of maintenance, perfect for high-traffic workspaces. It not only looks sleek but also provides resilience against wear and tear, making it ideal for the office setting.

Step 1: Stripping and Prepping the Floor

Before installing the new flooring, we carefully removed the old carpet tiles. This included stripping away the old glue-down tiles and thoroughly cleaning the subfloor to ensure a smooth surface for the new materials.

• Floor preparation: Removing the adhesive residue was a critical part of the process. Using specialized equipment, we ensured that no old glue remained, preventing any issues with the new installation.

Step 2: Installing the New Carpet Tiles in the Library

Once the floor was prepared, we began installing the Raw Beauty 'Astute' carpet tiles in the library. The tiles were laid out with precision to create a seamless pattern that not only looked aesthetically pleasing but also maximized comfort and acoustics in the space.

• Attention to Detail: Each tile was carefully placed to ensure that the beige and tan tones/pattern aligned perfectly, creating a consistent and inviting look.

Step 3: Installing the LVP in the Office Spaces

Next, we turned our attention to the office areas, where we installed the Urban Khaki LVP. The plank style was chosen for its modern appearance and the added benefit of being low-maintenance while offering excellent durability.

• Seamless Fit: We made sure the LVP was aligned correctly with all edges and seams properly sealed for a flawless finish. The result was a sleek, professional-looking workspace that supports daily activities in the office.
